On 16 June, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) and VIXIO Gambling Compliance hosted a webinar discussion “online advertising and intellectual property rights (IPR): how to promote responsible advert placement”. A video recording of the webinar can be found here.
An expert panel of speakers, including the European Commission, discussed the practical steps that gambling operators and their affiliates can follow to ensure that their advertising doesn’t appear on websites, or apps, which contain IPR-infringing content, including piracy websites which stream sports, TV, or movies.

This webinar was organised as part of EGBA’s promotion of responsible advertising in the gambling sector and its support for the European Commission-led memorandum of understanding (MoU) which aims to reduce IPR-infringing online advertising in the EU. As signatory to the MoU, EGBA is committed to promoting the objectives of the MoU to the wider gambling sector.
