About Us

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is the Brussels-based trade association representing the leading online gaming and betting operators established, licensed and regulated within the EU. EGBA works together with national and EU regulatory authorities and other stakeholders towards a well-regulated and well-channeled online gambling market which provides a high level of consumer protection and takes into account the realities of the internet and online consumer demand.

EGBA advocates for regulations which ensure that the regulated online gambling offer is attractive enough to appeal to the maximum number of players so as to channel them away from unregulated offers.

A key objective of EGBA is to promote a sustainable online gambling sector where customers can enjoy a safe and fun online gambling experience inside a well-regulated and competitive market. To support this, EGBA members developed and adhere to an ambitious set of European industry standards to complement the many different and stringent licensing requirements they already comply with in the European countries where they operate.

EGBA member companies meet the highest regulatory standards and, in 2021, had a combined total of 225 online gambling licenses to provide their services to 29,8 million customers across 21 different European countries. Currently, EGBA members account for 33% of Europe’s online gambling gross gaming revenue (GGR).

EGBA members are also members of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) which drives industry efforts in fighting betting related match-fixing or corruption and supporting the integrity of sports. The association has established an alert platform and information sharing agreements with leading governing bodies of sports, including FIFA and the IOC.

EGBA is registered to the EU Transparency register since 2009 with the number 29508582413-52.
