European Safer Gambling Week 2026: Save The Date Announcement

EGBA is pleased to announce that this year’s European Safer Gambling Week will take place from 16-22 November 2026. Join us in promoting safer gambling across Europe!

Brussels, 2 April 2026 The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is pleased to announce the dates for this year’s European Safer Gambling Week, which will take place from 16-22 November 2026.

European Safer Gambling Week is an annual pan-European initiative[1] organised by EGBA to raise awareness about safer gambling and reinforce a strong culture of player protection. The initiative brings together stakeholders across Europe’s gambling sector in a common mission to promote safe and sustainable play through sharing tools, resources, and best practices.

This year will be the sixth edition of the initiative and follows the record-breaking success of 2025, which saw 221 partners participate across 24 countries, with a social media campaign reaching 4.1 million users with safer gambling messages – a 32% increase on the previous year. There were also 23 events gathering over 2,500 attendees during the campaign week.

For the first time, the 2025 edition brought the campaign’s safer gambling messages to televised football matches and retail outlets across Europe, and was supported through the launch of a dedicated campaign website.[2] The 2026 edition will once again feature a social media campaign, events programme, and updated campaign website.

Looking ahead to this year’s edition, Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, said:

“Five years ago, this was a small initiative. Today it reaches millions of people across Europe. That growth reflects the commitment of hundreds of organisations across Europe to safe and sustainable gambling. The initiative has come a long way, and we are determined to make 2026 the strongest edition yet. We encourage organisations across the sector to start thinking now about how they could get involved and make their mark on this year’s campaign.”

European Safer Gambling Week takes place 16-22 November 2026. We look forward to welcoming new and returning partners – if your company or organisation is interested in participating, please register your interest here to receive future updates on how to get involved.
