Recap: European Safer Gambling Week, 1-7 November 2021

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), and its partners, organised the inaugural European Safer Gambling Week (ESGW) on 1-7 November 2021. The theme of this first ESGW was “Fostering a Stronger Culture of Safer Gambling in Europe”.
ESGW is an annual cross-industry initiative to promote safer gambling in Europe and was organised for the first time by EGBA in conjunction with supporting national online gambling associations.
The aim of ESGW is to raise awareness of safer gambling between customers, gambling companies, regulatory authorities and the wider public and to share knowledge and information about the existing regulations for safer gambling, the tools available to promote safer gambling, tips on how to gamble more safely, the latest research, and much more.
In this first year, ESGW content had over 300,000 views across social media.
ESGW coincided with a number of local safer gambling weeks, particularly in Ireland, Malta and the UK, and a series of online events took place across various European countries. These events were free to attend, and you can find more information and view them below.
