The association publishes its Annual Activity Report 2026, highlighting key organisational achievements over the past 12 months and latest online gambling market data from its members.
Brussels, 9 July 2026 – The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), representing Europe’s leading online gambling operators, has published its latest Annual Activity Report. The report showcases EGBA’s key achievements and valuable insights into the European online gambling market through aggregated market data from its members.
The Annual Activity Report 2026 details EGBA’s achievements over the past year, including progress in setting and raising standards across the industry – from player protection to advertising and anti-money laundering. The 5th annual European Safer Gambling Week achieved record participation and impact across Europe, including, for the first time, safer gambling messaging displayed at live televised football matches in several countries. EGBA also launched safergambling.eu, a new dedicated platform providing players with country-specific helplines and self-exclusion resources.
EGBA’s Annual Sustainability Report 2025 revealed continued progress in our members’ sustainability efforts and, for the first time, included data on their tax contributions to European economies. The association also championed the approval of the first European standard on markers of harm for online gambling, an initiative EGBA proposed in 2022, and launched a Responsible Influencer Marketing Pledge in partnership with the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA).
EGBA strengthened its industry representation with Tipico joining as its ninth full operator member and Yaspa joining as a new associate member, while also significantly expanding its secretariat team with three new colleagues across policy, regulatory affairs, and EU institutional engagement.
The report also presents aggregated 2025 European data from the association’s members, including information about return to player rates, customer winnings, products, and licences.
“It was a landmark year for EGBA in several respects: the most impactful European Safer Gambling Week yet, the approval of the first European standard on markers of harm, new standards on influencer marketing, and continued progress under our AML Guidelines.” – Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA.
“Finland’s transition to a multi-licensed market is also a major development that we have long called for, and validates our long-standing position that competitive, regulated markets are the most effective way to protect consumers and address the illegal market. Looking ahead, we’ll continue our efforts to set standards across the industry and to promote balanced and smart regulation across Europe,” Mr Haijer added.
