The Transparency Project: A Data Repository for Industry-funded Research specifically related to addictive behavior  Invitation to a scientific dialogue with Howard J. Shaffer, Ph.D., one of the world´s leading scientist-clinicians in the field of addiction research, treatment, and training.

At this exclusive event, Howard Shaffer, Ph.D., will introduce "The Transparency Project", the world’s first ever public data repository for industry-funded datasets related to addictive behavior. These behaviors included both behavioral (gambling) and substance (alcohol and other drugs) expressions of addiction. The repository is the first of its kind to gather actual Internet gambling activity records.

This project intends to advance public access to scientific information and data associated with industry-funded addiction research. The data repository will provide a valuable resource for academic research across a broad range of scientific areas, including psychology, economics, health policy and public health.

Using an informal meeting setting, Dr. Shaffer will introduce participants to the Transparency Project and to some of the findings specifically related to gambling addiction and prevention already harvested from data that is available through the project.
